DURHAM SCHOOL SERVICES IN RACINE RECEIVES GREEN FLEET CERTIFICATION

Lisle, Ill – The National School Transportation Association (NSTA) recognized Durham School Services in Racine, WI, with the Green School Bus Fleet certification in the bronze category. The certification program has been endorsed by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Clean School Bus USA program and is the only green fleet certification available in the school bus industry. NSTA recognizes operators for the steps they have taken to reduce emissions and make a positive environmental impact. “We understand our responsibility to help reduce emissions and create a cleaner environment,” said Bob Foxley, regional manager for Durham. “Any adjustment to our operations, no matter how small, can have a substantial positive impact on the environment. Through the implementation of programs such as idle reduction and fuel conservation, we’ve taken the first steps towards doing our part.” “We have a long and proud tradition of honoring those who have made valuable contributions to our industry, the students we transport and to the communities we serve,” said Todd Monteferrario, former NSTA president. “It is my pleasure to recognize them.” Celebrating its centennial year, Durham transports students across the U.S. every day. The four Durham locations were awarded with Green School Bus Fleet certification – Racine, WI, Casa Grande, AZ, Rosemead, CA and Waterbury, CT. The Racine location has ten maintenance team members, 176 buses and provides service for Racine Unified School District.
